Silicone Urine Catheter
The product consists of catheter, tapered connector, ball and tip. Different pattern has different structure. See specification below.
Single lumen catheter: it consists of tube, single lumen tapered connector (discharging tapered connector), sharp tip and guide wire (6FR/8Fr/10Fr) without ball.
Double lumen catheter: it consists of tube, ball, double lumen tapered connector (discharging tapered connector, bubble tapered connector), one-way valve, shade guide card set, sharp tip and guide wire (6FR/8Fr/10Fr) and ball. Triple lumen catheter: it consists of tube, ball, triple lumen tapered connector (discharging tapered connector, bubble tapered connector, douching tapered connector), one-way valve, shade guide card set, douching connector, douching connector cap, urine catheter connecting tube, sharp tip and ball.
Tubes, balls and connectors are made of silicone rubber. Cytotoxicity≤level 2. No sensitization response or mucous irritation. Oxirane is used for sterilization while residual quantity≤10μg/g.
The catheter can be used to drain urine while double and triple catheter can be used for compressing hemostasis and douching bladder in urologic surgical operation.
Preparation
According to patient’s physique, operator selects available disposable silica gel catheter. Open the plastic bag and take the catheter out. Then operator disinfects himself/herself and patient. Wearing gloves.
Lubrication:
For operator plugging catheter once, the tip and tube of catheter can be lubricated by medical silicone oil or other non-petroleum matrix lubricant.
Plugging
Single lumen:
Operator plugs lubricant catheter into urethra and bladder. When some urine discharge, fixing it by bandage for preventing falling off. Patient’s drainage wound should be covered by sterilized gauze to prevent pollution.
Double and triple lumen:
Operator plugs lubricant catheter into urethra and bladder. When some urine discharged, plugging deeper for 3~6cm for ball being completely entered bladder.
Injecting water in ball:
For double and triple catheters, operator injects sterile water(such as injection water) less than quantity into one-way valve by non-needle injector then slowly pull catheter until inflated ball get stuck by bladder. Douching connector on triple catheter can be opened to douche bladder.
Taking out:
Single lumen: ripping off fixed bandage then slowly pulling out catheter.
Double and triple lumen: Firstly, operator drains injected sterile water from ball then slowly pull catheter out, or nip the tube for taking it out after rapidly draining fluids.
Indwelling:
The catheter can be indwelt according to doctor’s opinion less than 14 days.
