Introduction Of Disposable Surgical Kits

Disposable surgical kits are usually composed of large cloth bags, surgical drapes and Meiya bags, and other surgical accessories can be added according to surgical requirements. Surgical drape is the core of the entire surgical kit. According to many years of foreign clinical experience, the design concept and production process of the surgical kit are more in line with the actual needs of surgery, and more effectively protect patients and medical staff. Its main characteristics are excellent water resistance (waterproof non-woven fabric), good water absorption performance (water-absorbing non-woven fabric), high static pressure, good flexibility, smoothness, imported stickers (no allergy), alcohol resistance, Anti-plasma, anti-oil and other advantages.

For example, lower limb surgery kit

The main configuration includes lower limb surgery drape, drape, Meiya bag, large cloth, foot cover, tape and so on.

Lower extremity surgery drapes are used on the patient’s lower limbs to form a sterile area for surgery to prevent cross-infection between medical staff and patients; large drapes can be used as a single cover and spread on the surgical instrument platform, sometimes covering the patient.

Also medical packaging should choose appropriate packaging materials and packaging methods. The packaging method is not only related to the sterilization method, but also considers the sterilized items. A lot of research has been done on this, and many kinds of medical packaging materials are also available on the market.

Understanding the sterilization method and packaging requirements can help us make the right decision when choosing packaging materials. Only packaging materials specifically designed for sterilization and approved by the FDA can be used.

The pressure steam sterilization packaging material must be able to withstand the high temperature of 121 ℃-135 ℃, the discharge of air, the penetration of water vapor and the drying of the packaging material and the contents;

Ethylene oxide sterilization The packaging material must allow the penetration and discharge of ethylene oxide gas (ventilation process);

Dry heat sterilization The packaging material must withstand a high temperature of 160℃-204℃ within 2 – 3 hours without melting, burning or other reactions;

Plasma sterilization packaging materials must withstand extreme vacuum, not absorb sterilizing agents, not affect the sterilization cycle, and not damage the items to be sterilized.

In addition to choosing the right packaging materials, we should also understand how to use the above packaging materials appropriately to achieve the design goals of sterilant penetration, aseptic barriers and aseptic opening of the packaging materials.
